Rainbow Bluets, part two
Female Rainbow Bluets aren't quite as colorful as the males, but they're exceptionally handsome damselflies, with pale green underneath and almost solid black above.
The eyespots are narrow and blue, and there are a few stripes of blue near the tip of the tail.
This one has a few parasitic water mites attached to her abdomen.
Some individuals are more yellow than green, though the late-evening light in these last two photos is probably making the color look warmer than it really is.
