I'm terrible at identifying trees and shrubs even when they're fully leafed out, but from the red stems, I guess this is Siberian Dogwood.
Even I can tell this is a box elder.
These buds were on an elm.
I don't know what this one is, but the resemblance to a bird's head amused me.
I don't know what kind of tree this was either.
I wonder if this ladybug thought it was hiding?
A sucker on a tree trunk. The golden brown in the background is last year's prairie grass.
This and the next two are from Elm Creek Park Reserve, which has fruit trees along some of its paths; I think these are all plums.
